MISSION FIESTA is a variety of projects that are geared towards the service of local, national and international communities, all of which are rooted in the Judeo-Christian spiritual tradition, most of which are somehow ministry oriented, whether traditional or non-traditional in nature.
Ongoing:
Will be continuing to develop the networking aspect of The Justice Network, both nationally and locally as well as through social media. The goal is to engage people with their LOCAL communities and serve those Jesus would serve -- that is, everyone -- but to never forget the poor, the lost, the sick, imprisoned and lonely.
Planned for January 2014-- the exact date to be announced.
Mission Fiesta House - 'an art and prayer event' is the first event planned under the 'new name' MISSION FIESTA. It gets it's inspiration from the England-born 24/7 Movement and the IHOP movement, incorporating elements of each Here's the background and a description (YouTube video.) We maybe have found a 'space' to host the event, Onething, a place where different groups, churches and ministries meet. I just started dialogue via a phone call yesterday, actually just re-introducing myself as I used to hang out there a lot in the prayer rooms there where you can just 'soak' in God's presence with worship music in the background. It was only after getting off the phone that I realized this may be the perfect place for this long postponed 'first event.'
So here's what art and prayer and mission look like:
_______________
Why I am finally asking for help with these projects:
Previously, I have either actually executed these projects or ministry endeavors with some success, or attempted these projects only accomplishing the slightest impact intended as I was reticent about asking for either financial or practical assistance. And since this is an independent 'start-up,' I there's no Big Brother church or ministry officially sanctioning this, although I am personally accountable to a core group of men at the Bible study I attend, as well as to my local church.
(When I actually file for the 501(c) or 501(c3), there will be further accountability via a board.)
*The following, although not directly related, does bear some weight into my decision to follow God's lead and launch into official 'ministry,' however non-traditional. *
(I learned in the past that 'non-profit' does not mean, 'no money involved'. I had previously given my creative talents requesting no financial compensation, including writing the original SANDMAN stage play for a church. It is now still being produced by others for nearly two decadesalthough This play continues creating opportunities for those using it and has major elements of the original play in spite of my writing it at no cost. I plan on reviving him at some point. )
